The King of Denkered has searched the seas for three years, in his quest to reach the mercreature who saved him from a ship wreck, but he gives up, tired of chasing a dream.
“One day. One day after he convinced himself to propose to an unsuitable, unrefined, unliked, conniving girl, he found the woman he’d been looking for.”
Contrarily to what one would assume, Silvia isn’t masochistic, so when they meet again, she has no intention to waste her time on the yummy piece of man she’d saved three years ago. He may have been the object of every single one of her fantasies, but he’s taken. Women who manage to get a man to forget his attachment get what they deserve: a cheating ass.
End of story, right?
A little Siren is the second book of Not Quite the Fairy Tale, and although they are standalones, they are meant to be read in order as the characters interact.
Beware of strong language and adult situations, although this is no non-stop erotica.
Here’s What Reviewers Had To Say:
There are many takes on fairy tales that often play with the classic tales. A Little Siren is a modern twist on the story of the Little Mermaid, but it is certainly not a book aimed at children.
The central characters of the story are Silvia and Eric. Eric is no longer a prince, but a king and Silvia is a Sea Witch, or, to put it another way, the little siren. This book is a wonderful retelling of the story of the little mermaid that will address lots of different themes that really don’t come up in the original Hans Christian Anderson tale.
There is a mixture of sex, war and a touch of self-discovery thrown into the mix of royal intrigue, palace scandal and magical abilities that can only exist in a fairy tale world. Rather than keeping the fairytale in a closed off world, the author has chosen to bring them all together in the same universe. Rumpelstiltskin makes an appearance and other characters such as Cinderella and Snow White are also part of the wider world.
There are not many books that can blend together a story of love between mortals and demi gods in a relaxed tone that even people who find it difficult to read will be able to easily digest and enjoy. This is not a fairy tale for the faint hearted though, the sex is fairly graphic in places and the story moves extremely quickly – blink or start reading on auto-pilot and you will miss something!
This book is really an enjoyable read, with a lovely blend of humour and drama. The characters are built upon the archetypes featured in fairy tales, which provide an excellent framework for the author to build her own characters on. Recommend this book to those who are looking for something light to read that still has plenty of depth and little bit of a fantastical feel.

The 2nd book to a great sexy series. This book can be a standalone but you get more out of it if you read the first. Very well written and filled with great scenes. Its a fun sexy twist on an adult fairy tale and is both creative and a blast to read. A real page turner and worth your time for sure. Highly recommended. Very sexy and great tension and suspense!
