Let everyone in our community get to know you. You don’t have to use your real name, though you can. Though we ask for your email address when you post a comment — it is NOT published. Please don’t your email address within the text of your comment because you’ll get spamed to death. However do feel free to give us your twitter URL and your website URL … any more than that and the Spam Catcher God will zap you.
Let us know a bit about you … are you a photographer, writer, Internet Entrepreneur, designer? Do you just come for the contests?
Melanie
PS Please keep it under 400 words or so, we don’t need your resume!! The copywriter’s adage that it should be as long as it needs to be – as long as it is interesting, doesn’t quite apply here. Though the “interesting” part part probably should.

It occurred to me to jump in and introduce myself, since I don’t yet have an ABOUT page!
My name is Melanie Rockett. I’ve been a freelance for 30 years (a LOOOOOG TIME). I worked as a ghost writer for one of the top Internet Gurus in the world … Corey Rudl.
I have written and published 9 books, some of them Canadian best sellers. Five of my books were about photography, two are about winning sweepstakes contests. I have written so many thousands of articles, I stopped counting 10 years ago. I have written over 500 television scripts and produced about 200 programs.
One of my newsletters Freelance News has been publishing for over 10 years.
After burning out and taking some time off … I decided to use my Internet Marketing knowledge and build a Search Marketing company. My clients think I walk on water because I get them top Google rankings and a huge amount of very targeted traffic. I absolutely LOVE IT!! I especially love helping people grow their businesses.
There’s more, but it will have to wait for my About page!

Like my name says, I’m ALMOST there. Right now stuck half way between a job and the wish. I’m slowly picking up paying gigs, a couple of weddings coming up in May! I wasn’t going to do weddings but it appears that even though there is a recession people still get married and still need photographers. I’ve got some stock up at one of the agencies and it is starting to sell. So hopefully ALMOST will become a Pro within the year.
I come here for the contests, the information and the comments. My love of writing has blossomed over the years as I try to find ways to get my work published. I started contributing to a blog in Feb. that is now an online magazine. I submit something 6 times a week to http://www.speakwithoutinterruption.com and it is the best thing that has happened to me and to my writing. If you love it do it, I always say. And for me the love of writing pushes me to become better with each sentence, with each story, with each blog. I am glad there are sites like this to help me find new avenues to express myself. I think technology of this type is great!
Hello there,
My name is Mark and I wanted to introduce myself to this community. I live in San Diego and want to start a media company here. I am a working student and photographer as well. My goal is to go to SDSU for Tech. theater and later get a MA in Lighting design somewhere. I enjoy the contests but come to learn as well. I don’t post often but if you care to follow my twitter is portishoke27.
Wish me luck!

Hi Mark,
I’m going to encourage you to go ahead and start your own media company. Many eons ago I did a similar thing in Edmonton, Alberta. The technology was totally different, but overall clients needs have only changed for the better. Hope you find great information here … and DO let us know if you win any of the contests you enter!
