How Your Photography  got SO Good SO Fast!

 Digital Photography Workshops

Here's your chance to get a taste of the exciting world of photojournalism, so grab your camera and join us for an intensive four-day photography workshop in Vancouver, BC.

Would you like to explore the world with you camera, and get paid for doing it? If so, then the exciting world of travel photojournalism can become a reality for you. Freelance photojournalists Blair Howard and Renate Siekmann invite you to join them for their next photographic workshop in beautiful Vancouver, September 6 - 10, 2006.

 Digital Photography Workshops

Our photography workshops are designed to help you take your photo skills to the next level, to learn how to take amazing photographs consistently and to order, and how to unleash the creative side of both you and your camera. During four days of fun and photography you'll enjoy the company of a small group of like-minded folks with the same interests as you. You'll go on photo shoots and receive intensive, on-the-spot, one-on-one help, guidance and instruction from Blair Howard, Renate Siekmann and Melanie Rockett.

Here is what a recent workshop attendee said:

Blair: Even though I was really new to digital photography (and learning about F-stops, shutter speeds, etc.), I believe I came away from your workshop with a greater understanding and ability to take vastly improved photos.  Your ability to explain things in simplistic, layman's terms is a tremendous asset and providing the one-on-one advice out on the photo shoots was priceless.

Terry Stolte, Texas

You'll also receive daily critiques of the photographs you take as you proceed through the workshop - these are invaluable, the only real way to learn how to take your photography to the next level.

"I have been fortunate to have had two seminars where Blair Howard was featured and got the opportunity to personally interact with him on a professional level. His patience and teaching abilities are easy to understand on a very informal and informative level as he really shares his feelings and experiences with the students."

Lynnia Allison, Miami, Florida

During the four days of intensive instruction you'll learn:

  • How to shoot professional-quality photographs - better than you ever thought possible
  • How to achieve perfect focus every time
  • How to shoot beautiful night photos without a flash
  • How to achieve perfect composition
  • How to create and market Photo Essays that will sell and re-sell for a lucrative income
  • How to create dazzling PowerPoint presentations that will stun your friends and family
  • How to create a need for your photos and thus double your photography income…

You'll do all of this in the setting of incredible natural beauty. Vancouver is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful cities on the entire North American continent. You'll photograph majestic mountain vistas, beautiful seascapes, the hustle & bustle of Vancouver's China Town, it's beaches and cityscapes and some of the spectatular parks and gardens around the city.

 Digital Photography Workshops

We'll be holding the workshop in the beautiful Sylvia Hotel, only steps away from spectacular sandy beaches, the sea wall and Vancouver's exciting shopping district.

The Sylvia Hotel is a designated heritage building, ideally located on English Bay, beside Stanley Park and just 5 minutes from downtown. Built in 1912, the Sylvia Hotel is a landmark and one of Vancouver’s greatest treasures. The location is a favorite for business travelers wanting to be out of the busy downtown, for families vacationing on the beach or for romantic getaways. The Sylvia Hotel is definitely one of Vancouver’s best kept secrets. The old fashioned character and friendly service gives travelers a home away from home. The Sylvia Hotel offers a fantastic location, great value, superb quality with a wonderful beachside dining experience! read more about the Sylvia
