I was constantly on the edge of my seat. Each of the characters were well developed to the point that I could vividly see each individual. As someone who was not associated with anything military related, I didn’t feel lost reading the background stories or active events. The entire story felt very alive, and entrancing, as if I was watching it fold before my eyes. Though the story is fictional, the scientific explanations seemed real and made the story make sense. I enjoyed that, as a reader, I could feel the emotions of each individual: fear, excitement, agitation, relief. You even find yourself rooting for certain characters. All together, it was a nice clash of modern and prehistoric, with plenty of twists.
