I read this on a recommendation of a friend and after spending a chapter and a half getting my head around where I was and what was happening, I couldn’t stop turning the pages. Cadwal, although a man from an age past, is relatable and Brei is a strong woman in what must have been a real man’s world back then. I am glad for her character as the story wouldn’t have worked as well as it did without her. So, although I am not generally a historical fiction reader, this book impressed me. – Amazon Review
