BUILD YOUR BRICK OVEN step-by-step:
Effortlessly Build a Brick Oven that will Add
Value to Your Property and Lifestyle. (How-To)
This book will show you step by step how to build a practical, beautiful and efficient brick oven. It is very simple to follow, you could build it just following the image sketches and photos.
You will find out how to cut bricks properly without any machinery, how to make a cement mixture that is flexible and will not crack too much, how to square corners for your concrete platforms the easy way, how to cure your oven, how to use the wind to start and maintain your fire burning, even how to build in extreme cold weather conditions.
In fact, any food cooked in clay or brick ovens tastes different from any other conventional oven. The main reason being that once these ovens are hot and have reached the desired cooking temperatures, they stay hot for long periods with uniform heat.
I would say that the heat produced by any earth material is more natural and kinder to comestibles regardless of the high intensity of the heat. The same intensity of heat in a gas or electric steel modern oven would burn to cinders any food. That is why anyone that has eaten any food cooked in a clay or brick oven will appreciate it when food is cooked this way. That’s why there has always been an interest and demand for these ovens.
By the way! You can cook just about anything in them, it’s a pity that one only hears about pizzas (they are even mistakenly called Pizza Ovens). I’ve cooked exquisite cuts of meat, racks of lamb, legs, and shoulders of pork, roasted vegetables, bread, cakes, the list goes on and on, and of course pizzas. It not only cooks much quicker (1.5mintes for a pizza), it’s tastier too! Try next time cooking a large dish with an assortment of vegetables, all well based in oil or butter but better still with the juices from your meat roast.
Wow! My mouth is watering already, can you smell it?
That is outdoor luxury living! You don’t need to be rich to enrich your life, simple scenarios just like this one have no price. So take care in your oven project right from the beginning.
About the Author
Al DaCosta At 18 years old I left my home in Portugal and by 19 I had already attended different schools and universities in Portugal, Spain, and France. Afterward, I relocated to England where I spent most of my life and studied hotel management, and later construction design engineering.
Following my military service, I started my entrepreneurial life, struggling at first with no money, sleeping rough on Las Canteras beach, in Las Palmas, Canary Islands, and working wherever I could as I did not know anybody there. From there on I worked my way up to owning my first hotel business by my mid-twenties in England (which I bought without having the funds).
There was also a time I delivered yachts across oceans to foreign shores, most of the time short-handed, many times singlehanded. I designed, built, and managed one of the largest discotheque/bar/restaurants in the South of England, which gathered over 4,000 people weekly. I have been directly involved in construction design, and also built several houses in Spain, Portugal, France, England, and the United States (where I now live). More recently I have invented and patented a new method of building natural disaster-proof homes. I’ve been self-employed most of my life and have undergone a myriad of trials that have always pushed me to find positive resolutions which brought me some of my highest points in life.
I’ve traveled much and lived in a variety of places throughout this great vast world. Made friends with people of all colors, creeds, and walks of life. And now in my retirement, sharing the many things I’ve done and learned, passing a wealth of insights I’ve acquired to you, to my sons, grandchildren, and the people I love.
