Whether you already are an expat or on the way to become one, this is definitely a book you need to read. Florence navigates you through her expat journey with her contagious positive attitude and can truly influence your life abroad. As a former expat I could rely to many situations and wish this book existed before our first move. Very inspiring ! – Amazon Review
“Darling, I have been promoted and they’ve asked us to move abroad!”
That’s what I dreamed of: adventure, change, freedom… but now? Really? Right now? I’m not ready, I’m not organized, the kids, me, us, and everything that goes with it… How do I know if this is the right decision?
If these questions resonate, this book is for you. While Florence’s experience is as unique as yours is or will be, our questions and fears are often the same. Florence’s personal reflections will guide you and open you to new and different ways of thinking and acting for your life abroad.
The Expat Bible I wish I had had before embarking on my journey!! Not only is Florence’s book an excellent guide for all the logistical issues that families face when moving abroad for an Expat assignment, she covers the whole gamut of human emotions that people go through and how to prepare for them and rebound landing you and your family on your feet. Through her naturally positive lens, we learn that while Expat life is full of challenges and not always the glamorous ride people make it out to be, there is so much opportunity to learn from other cultures and grow as a person. Florence advocates stepping out of your comfort zone, but gives you the tools in this book to not do that blindly. She explains in detail how to “negotiate the package” which is priceless for being comfortable and setting yourself up for success in the best way. I wish I had had this book at the beginning of my Expat journey but am grateful for all the tips I am learning from it now. -Amazon Review
