“A great tone and a mystery worth unraveling; a pleasure to read.” – Wolf Durican, author of Raw Winter
Evie MacColl has got a handle on it. She’s been back from a six-month respite in a pocket dimension for a while now, and her P.I. father dying during that time away totally helps her forget how much she enjoyed the escape — and the hooking up with that dimension’s spirit king.
Now, she’s got that spirit trapped in a flask in her basement. And when not tempted to give in to this spirit’s demands, she has a busy schedule dating chumps and waging her own personal war against public radio. But when one of her father’s old clients hires her to dig up dirt on his ex-wife, Evie finds herself ensnared in the plans of the real estate developer who trapped the spirit king in the first place. As the spirit king plots its escape and the developer plots to use Evie to regain control of the spirit king, Evie has her slightly toxic BF Tegan, best boy dog-companion Pygmalion, and some guy who got caught up in her life at a time when she maybe lacked inner growth to stand up against spirit-kings and so many would-be kings.
Yup. A handle on it.
