Reading his stories and memories made me think of how amazing this beautiful man’s life was and how it was overcome with a mental sickness, but how in the eyes of his father how he was just an amazing gentle loving man that had an amazing life and family on his side no matter what. Maurice Mendoza, my son, who was an actor who played Richie on the Power Rangers was an extraordinary and humble person. His life was complicated, his ending was tragic, and yet, in the short time he walked this earth, he shone like a bright light, illuminating the lives of others who knew him.

This book is my homage to him, where I make an effort to remember the best, the brightest, and always, the beauty. A life remembered is a kind of immortality. I know my son is no longer here to shine, but we can now all remember my Beautiful Boy who shines always in my heart.

Maurice Mendoza who played Richie on the Power Rangers suffered from schizophrenia most of his life. Unfortunately he met an untimely death. He was multi-talented, had a Masters degree in Economics and besides being an actor was a musician. That is his voice singing and playing the guitar on the soundtrack of this video about him. Jose Mauricio Mendoza is an author of autobiographical and political books. He holds a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelors in management. Through his books he shares the learnings of a man who was initially brought to this country undocumented as an infant and grew up to be a devoted American to his core.
