… the World at the end of the twenty-first century where the green ideology has won. It is a world when everything is ruled by the World Commission and must be “sustainable”. People can’t eat meat and older people are forced to undergo euthanasia because their lives are “unsustainable”. The author’s description of “future reality” sounds to me – in a few examples – as a description of current left-wing progressive reality. All intellectuals and politicians just talk about sustainability and green ideology. Sure, we don’t kill old people. But can we be sure that in the name of sustainability, green activists can’t do that? Amazon Reviewer” TrizahKelvin
“One of the best dystopias of the twenty-first century.” — The American Reporter
In My Diary of 2091, I describe the world at the end of the 21st century in which I live.
During the twenty-first century, there was a significant restriction of human freedom in the name of environmental protection. All countries are currently united in the World Union controlled by the World Commission. National democratic states have completely disappeared. Everything is subject to a totalitarian program called The Sustainable World. Technologies help fulfill its goals. Artificial intelligence algorithms known as Big Expert advise people on what to do in order to live sustainably.
But the advice of Big Expert is taken more like orders, and people have already started obeying them completely and without reflection. The Expert tells people what to eat, who to date, how to live, or encourages older people to undergo euthanasia. All this in the name of reducing carbon dioxide emissions and protecting the environment. But Big Expert also advises the purchase of more and more unnecessary things, so that his advice goes not only against human freedom but also against the very sustainability it supposedly protects. Environmental protection has thus been abused and both freedom and the environment are being destroyed. The dominance of the Expert over an individual’s freedom of choice was symbolically completed this year with the demolition of the Statue of Liberty in New York and the erection of the Statue of Big Expert in its place.
At first, I thought that the world works well – like everyone else. I came from Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, and settled in New York, where I started working as a journalist for the Sustainable Times published by the World Commission. But then I went on a business trip to Sri Lanka, the only country not yet part of the World Union. There I met a traditional way of life that was on earth before the reign of Big Expert. And there I finally underwent a radical change of mind and realized that the world I lived in was perverted. So I went back to New York determined to change that.
For this purpose, I also published My Diary from 2091.
