Truly enjoyed reading this collection of short stories. Short stories are perfect reading material for someone with little free time. There are ten engrossing stories in the collection, one better than the next. My favorite was the last one ~ A long line of mainly heathen. It was an original and fascinating idea. I could see it as a TV series. – Amazon Review
A collection of stories that reminds us rock bottom is a place worth visiting. Dark yet hilarious, this uncompromising debut from Matt Gibson is a fine blend of thinking and drinking, degeneracy and philosophy, a twisted journey from the barstool to the grave.

As the dumpster fire that is 2020 comes to a close I was thrilled to escape into the eleven short stories in Matt Gibson’s debut collection, Neck Pain. Reading this year, with all its distractions has been challenging, but these well written, soulful, sometimes dark glimpses into the celebration of human frailty and strength are quick reads and a welcome respite from the realities of the day. Gibson’s flawed characters come to life with absorbing dialogue, thought provoking stories and well placed humor. Think Pete Hamill meets Quentin Tarantino meets Larry David. These characters and stories will stay with you long after you turn the page. You’ll want to inhale this in one sitting. – Amazon Review

Dark and twisted, but thought provoking and thoroughly entertaining. Clearly influenced by the likes of Hunter S. Thompson, Andy Shay, and Rob MacMillan. The ham is on the very last page. Filanga. – Amazon Review
