Once I started reading this book, I completed it within twelve hours – and that included going to sleep for the night! Jim writes in such a style that “one more chapter” happens over and over again. He approaches Imposter Syndrome from every angle I could think of and does it with wit, humor, and relatability. I’ll be returning to this book to dig in deeper and do the journaling prompts that end many of the chapters. – Amazon Review
Imposter Syndrome is an unavoidable pitfall for all of us in the healing and helping professions. We mistakenly believe that the key to overcoming it is lies in mastering our occupation. In truth, overcoming Imposter Syndrome requires coming to terms with our identity holistically and attending to our unhealed wounds.
It’s darkly amusing to realize that you had to complete a lot of impressive achievements just to qualify for this syndrome. You deserve to have great confidence in your work. More importantly, you deserve to feel secure and confident in yourself. The unavoidable truth is that our effectiveness is intimately connected to our wellbeing.
