I love reading books that makes my mind work. Through out the novel I found myself trying to connect the dots and trying to think like Sam McKay. However, it kept me guessing right up to the end. I am excited to see what awaits Sam Mckay. – Amazon Review
KM Hardy’s debut novel, and the first in her crime thriller Sam McKay series, Scots Honor will have you on the edge of your seat from all of the twists and turns!
Featured in the November 2020 edition of Publishers Weekly, critics love it and said:
“KM Hardy’s Scots Honor moves at a fast pace, with many twists and turns. It’s complex with quite a large number of characters and events that eventually fit together in the conclusion. Sam is a likable character despite his flaws which make him very human, and the reader is drawn to Liz who is fighting appalling odds while ready to protect her secret at all costs. The novel has everything; a bank holdup, a pedophile, several fights, a divorce, a child falling foul of the law, previously unknown familial relationships, and drug running.”
Sampson Angus McKay’s life has completely fallen apart: the important Brian Cairne is killed on his watch during a hostage situation, his wife has served him divorce papers, and he has been deported back to Scotland.
Now, trying to make the most of his unexpected situation, he meets a mysterious American woman, Liz, who has curiosity, and his cop instincts, completely enthralled. Liz Harper isn’t looking to make a connection with anyone, but the tall and brooding Sam has turned her plans upside down when he takes it upon himself to protect her as she navigates her new life in Scotland.
Back in the states, Sam’s faithful team uncovers a discrepancy involving Brian Cairne’s murder and set out to clear their former boss’ reputation. Very quickly, the enterprise proves to be more than they expected.
