Welcome to my Amazon page and thank you for visiting. I’ve been a writer ever since I could put two words together on a piece of paper. That began in second grade (thank you very much Mrs. Holsten, you were awesome).

I’ve spent my entire adult life – now nearly 58 years – writing and I’ve been lucky enough to be able to make a living at it, mostly at the New York Daily News, editing stories, writing headlines, and occasionally writing stories.

As a small boy I dreamed of becoming an airline pilot, but when I got to college and took the ROTC “can you be a pilot test” the commanding officer there at Rutgers looked at me and said, “Uh, er, hmmm. I assume you had a Plan B.”

So I said, I’ll just write the great American novel. Look out Ernest Hemingway! And that seems even less likely than the flying thing. But I’ve tried a couple of times. My first book “Happy,” was largely an autobiographical coming of age thing. And my second attempt was a fun story about a prison warden who solves the overcrowding by killing the old inmates no one cares about anymore. That one is called “Cells Divide.”

This new book, The Deviant, is just pure fun. Much of it is also autobiographical in that it focuses on a young reporter in Washington, D.C., which I was back in the late 1980s. The juicy parts, however, are completely made up. None of that perverted stuff ever happened, at least not to me. Read, enjoy, let me know what you think.
