My life’s journey has been a roller coaster ride – from living on top of the world to homelessness, from life in the “pros” to joblessness, and the loss of many loved ones and friends. Growing up in the inner city of Los Angeles, I learned valuable life lessons – how to overcome adversity, how to beat the odds, and how to do it all with dignity, respect, and pride. As a young man, I often wished I had someone to lead and guide me, and it is my hope that this coming of age story not only shares the issues that young people face, but also offers solutions to some of those issues and maybe even serves as a source of inspiration.
