I enjoyed reading this eight poems book. It took me about 40 minutes. It was easy to read even though I can only imagine how difficult it has been for the author to write about curses, crimes, death, and pacts with evil in such a fresh way. My favorite stories are “The Castle” and “The Creature.”

About the Author
Brennan McMahon grew up in a small town and did small town things. He spent half of his youth playing outside, and the other half stuck inside his own head. Before video games, it was action figures that spurred on his imagination. A love of writing emerged and he soon found himself gravitating towards the works of William Shakespeare and Edgar Allan Poe.
He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Literary Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas. Since then he has written a handful of other published books, penned a few produced movie screenplays, and currently lives with his wife and kids just 30 minutes or so from his hometown.
