The Poliuy Incident
The Human-Lyceroian War died a decade ago, yet its aftermath rings to this day. Starting with a mere passenger ship, ending in billions lost and two nations at their knees, and a white peace satisfying no one, not even those signing the documents.
The LRPS Iulia, a Lycer ship, was shot down by Humans, despite Lycerois attempts and confirmation the Iulia could fly in their space, was killed by Human patrols, leading to a war taking 1/6 of the Lycer population, and over half of Earth, gone.
Efforts to mend the relations of two distrusting powers followed, in hopes to avoid a sequel which would easily lead to full destruction of either – the first, an innocent expedition to the planet of Poliuy, was established by a private company known as LightX – far beyond Dark Space, past any known border, with their goal to create Human colonies in new galaxies, gather resources and study life across lightyears of darkness.
However, LightX originally had no interest in national relations – Government money came into play – the UN offered millions to attach Lyceroian researchers, one of many efforts to force Lycer-Human interaction in a much-needed attempt to force mended ties and finally allow the two nations to leave the most destructive war in each other’s history behind.
Little did anyone know the road ahead – tensions brewed as, what would infamously be known as the ‘Poliuy incident,’ came to devastate the and ruin the unlucky crew aboard the vessel taking them away from the place they thought they’d hate most…
