‘The War on Mars’ is a fast paced, sci-fi mystery, rescue adventure which has Erica, the protagonist, trying to recover her family from enigmatic intelligent entities. The novel is the initial installment of the series and Krebs, J. does not hold back. Erica is not a hero which commits no errors and has all the answers. Rather, we have a human hero pitted against monstrous automatons whose aims are unclear. Through Erica, we experience her fears, suspicions, and despair in a world which has been overturned by chaos. A deadly virus has spread throughout Earth and humans are being abducted in mass leading to total societal collapse. Erica is isolated, desperate, and outgunned. All of which must be overcome so that she must retrieve what matters most: her family. And so begins ‘The War on Mars’.

I grew up in Colorado an avid snowboarder/hiker/camper/outdoorsmen. I have never felt more free than in the woods. I spent most of my childhood lost in a book, devouring them with a frenzy to escape the world around me. My teenage years were devoted to poetry, the reading and writing of. I did a few slam poetry contests in high school and almost traveled the nation participating in slam contests everywhere.
No matter what dreams I wanted to follow, I only knew I had to go out into the world to find them. I packed up and joined the United States Air Force and haven’t stopped exploring since. With my amazing husband and two children, I continue dreaming with my head in the clouds, hoping one day my imagination can help change the world.
