A wonderful book! As someone familiar with the fairy tales, it reawakens the magical imagery and adds its own depth and magic to them. As the parent of young children, I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I also love the other books Donald Samson has written; he creates incredibly engaging imagery with his words! Another successful book! – Amazon Review
The Yonder
Constance has lost her husband to the Yonder, a place no one seems to know how to find. Only a hideous beast-man is willing to lead her on her search. Once arrived in the Yonder, Constance discovers, to her horror, that she is someone’s slave.
Her guide, Magpie, while helping her search for her lost husband, has the added challenge of keeping her out of her owner’s hands. Magpie, though, has dark secrets of his own. He has made a deal with the Devil, which has placed him under oppressive restrictions. To make matters worse, he owes Death a life, and he had rather it not be his own.
About the Author
Donald Samson has been working in Waldorf education for over 30 years, serving as a subject and class teacher, and more recently as a school administrator and mentor. It was during his many years as a class teacher that he developed his love for storytelling. His first books owe their origin to stories he told to one of his classes. It was his students’ persistent requests to read the stories that led him to write them down.
