Unwilling to conform to the Greater Good Movement, Tim fled his Minnesota home at the age of 16 to seek refuge with his uncle in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Two years later he learned that his mother had given birth to a baby girl, Sara.

Over the years the two stayed in contact and eventually became close. When Sara turned sixteen she informed Tim that she was being subjected to the same persecution he fled 18 years prior. Feeling compelled to save her from the radical agenda he returned to Duluth with the intent of bringing her back to Cheyenne, all the while knowing that if apprehended his life would be forever changed.
