The Replacement:
Book 1 of The Replacement Series
Angelica would have done anything for Merrick—even die for him, but when they are caught running away together, she faces a fate much worse than death.
The Lymerians have lived in secret on Earth for centuries by following strict rules and obeying the assignments given to them by their council leaders. When one of their own falls in love with a human girl, they decide to transition her human form to Lymerian, stealing her mortal life. Until the reformation is complete, Angelica will be imprisoned, her only contact a deadly stranger whom she must obey their every command.
Clara, commander of the Lymerian fighters known as Slayers, is chosen to mentor Angelica until she is ready to join the others. The position is far beneath someone of Clara’s stature, but she cannot deny the connection she has to Angelica and vows to make Angelica the best Votary the Lymerians have ever seen.
